The Southwest Business Improvement District (SWBID) and SWBID Partnership is a group of change-makers and ambassadors co-creating a safe, healthy, equitable, and prosperous Southwest DC community for all.

Working closely with the SWBID team, we engaged in interviews with the ambassadors and community leaders working together on an array of initiatives — from food distribution, mobility solutions, and park enhancement to street cleaning, and community events — to understand the depth and breadth of the issues Southwest DC faces and the initiatives and people committed to creating lasting change.

Kind Words

SDCO exceeded our expectations in every aspect of our rebranding project. Their creative prowess and attention to detail brought our vision to life, and the seamless collaboration made the entire process enjoyable and efficient.

That understanding inspired the strategy, story, and design direction, inspiring the brand identity, materials, and websites for each organization that feel both connected and distinct.

From stationery and outdoor signage to social media, we created a compelling brand toolkit the client can easily implement across platforms.

Two unique websites utilize playful animation, vibrant photography, and illustration to effortlessly guide users through the history of Southwest DC, the community initiatives in-place, the what, when, and where of upcoming neighborhood events — and the various ways supporters and prospective donors can take an active role in making the neighborhood healthier, more equitable, and prosperous for all.

Bold color, iconography, and compelling messaging define the brands and visually articulate the organizations’ core missions and the diverse neighborhood voices that make Southwest DC great.

The overwhelming response to the rebrand has energized the SWBID team, increased supporter engagement, and created momentum for a neighborhood powered by its people.
