Housed in a circa 1896 building, 101 Pitt Street has a storied history as a neighborhood hub — a post office, private residence, and even a retail store.

More recently, it operated as a popular restaurant and inn, and most recently, Charleston-based design firm, Basic Projects transformed the well-loved establishment into an inviting, eclectically stylish, community-driven restaurant, bar, and inn that delights, embraces, and welcomes past and longtime guests — and a new, wider audience.

The brand’s visual identity balances history and modernity, luxury and approachability for a consistent, flexible system that invites and intrigues.

With letterforms that evoke warmth, trust, and ease, and a logomark, monogram, and mascot, the visual identity nods to the brand’s history, laid back vibe, and intimate seaside setting.

The compelling visual language beautifully translates across everything from interior environments and in-room stationery to menus, postcards, signage, and dishware.

Nearly a hundred years and many iterations later, Post House offers a contemporary take on a much-loved neighborhood landmark and is already garnering praise and booking reservations to welcome the adventurous and the creative, the playful and the curious, the local and the far-flung, and all those who believe who believe that life is the greatest occasion.
