Founded in 2011, Herbivore was an early pioneer in the clean beauty movement. What began as small-batch natural skincare for an early Etsy community has grown into a global beauty brand, known for efficacious, plant-centric skin and bodycare.

At this pivotal moment, the Herbivore team reached out to us to evolve their e-commerce platform to boost sales, make it more engaging, efficient, and flexible as their product collections — and community — continue to grow.  

Following a comprehensive audit, we created a clean, structured layout, interactive tools, and a refined brand design that reflects the company’s longevity, maturity, and vision — and sets the path for global growth.

The site, built with Shopify theme blocks, allows component parts to be reused across multiple sections of the site, creating a cohesive design system their internal teams can easily edit and evolve over time. New product listing pages accommodate unique variables and collection types — and align with an updated breadcrumb design and banner design. The new site integrates multiple existing apps, like Recharge and Okendo, and introduces Search & Discovery to the storefront ecosystem, creating a more intuitive, seamless browsing and buying experience. 

Replacing a “gift with purchase app” with an easy-to-use native solution saved the Herbivore team time and money in monthly costs.

The reimagined site includes a refined Subscription page and widgets, a fresh user-generated-video design, Loyalty program page, Quiz page, and Build Your Kit page, creating abundant opportunities for customers to engage with the products, customize their experience, and be part of Herbivore’s growing, loyal following. 

Collaborating with the Herbivore product and marketing teams, our designers and developers ensured a seamless transition between the brand’s existing product line and the launch of more than 25 new SKUs.
