Objective / Solution
Craft a captivating identity, brand design, and website for a collection of ready to drink wine-based cocktails made to effortlessly and elegantly transport cocktail enthusiasts everywhere.
Colony Cocktails founders Jessica and Philip Miller share a passion for the aesthetic, spirit, stories, and hospitality of a bygone era. Through their collection of wine-based cocktails, they seek to bring people together to share stories and enjoy the deliciously exuberant side of life.
The logotype is distinguished by hatched serif and purposely imperfect letterforms often used in storied, heritage brands.
The logomark is an illustrated scene of a narwhal, often referred to as the unicorn of the sea, symbolizes magic, freedom, and intuition. The logomark depicts the narwhal’s spout filling up a cocktail glass — making the magical creature a wonderful host, and adding a sense of humor and whimsy to the brand design.
The website is a visual feast — drawing users in with a mix of botanical illustrations and clever storytelling to learn more about each delicious cocktail as well as an easy to use stockist search tool. Diehard enthusiasts can dive into recipes, news, and curated playlists on the Colony Cocktails blog, aptly titled, Dispatches from the Corner Booth.
Business cards, letterhead, lined envelopes, and custom packaging bring the playful and whimsical brand experience to tangible, memorable life.
A monogram, seal, and series of graphic elements beautifully expand the brand’s visual vocabulary and infuse whimsical, playful details that work across an array of mediums — from business cards to packaging to social media.
The warm, elegant, and inviting color palette marries vintage hues with more modern neutrals.
